Safe Start Violence Prevention Program
June 25th to August 13th
Safe Start is a free violence prevention program for teens that is designed to help students improve in the areas of emotional accountability, identifying abusive behavioral patterns, and thinking critically about consequences. Each week will cover a new topic.
June 25: Identifying Violent Thoughts & Behaviors
July 2: Strategizing Emotional Accountability
July 9: Responding to Conflict
July 16: Rising Above Cultural Norms that Promote Violence
July 23: Creating Boundaries
July 30: Avoiding Digital Violence
August 6: Deflecting Gangs and Human Traffickers
August 13: Advocating for Self and Others and Being Resourceful
The program will meet every Tuesday between June 25 and August 13 at 1:00pm and is open to teens entering grades 7 through 12.
The program is provided by the Crisis Center for South Suburbia.
You can register for the program at the Youth Services Desk (in person or over the phone). Registration is not required. No limit.
